Resources and List of Ranges for Target Practice in NH

Archery rangeFree Public Archery Ranges

Brush up on your bow hunting skills at New Hampshire Fish and Game Department archery facilities at Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown, and at the Owl Brook Hunter Education Center in Holderness. Both ranges are free, and open to the public.

 

Bear Brook State Park

  • Woodland archery range with 15 targets; and
  • A 4-target practice range that is universally accessible.

Owl Brook Hunter Education Center

  • Woodland archery course with 14 game targets placed in a variety of challenging situations at varying angles and distances.  The first target is wheelchair-accessible with signed parking nearby. Free and open daily from dawn to dusk, unless otherwise posted.  Broadheads are not allowed for safety and maintenance reasons.
  • A 4-target practice archery range is open daily, from dawn to dusk.

Fish and Game Clubs and Shooting Ranges in NH

The following list of firearm shooting ranges and fish & game clubs is compiled by the NH Fish and Game Hunter Education Program staff to help you find out where you can safely practice your shooting skills in New Hampshire. The majority of rifle/pistol ranges are private, meaning that membership is required to use them, or in some cases you can be the guest of a member. Shotgun ranges are generally open to the public, but a higher fee per round of shooting is required for non-members. Many of the membership clubs have special days during the year when the public is invited to try out the facilities. Contact the club for details, or to ask about becoming a member.
